Hidden Love Season 2 (2025) with Chen Zhe Yuan , Zhao Lusi and Xu Kai

In 2023 when this breathtaking series, adapted from the novel, “Secretly, Secretly But Unable To Hide It”, was served, fans and viewers couldn’t help but fall in love with Zhao Lusi and Chen Zhe Yuan’s chemistry as it was that perfect! The ending of the drama made many fans feel like an empty shell as many believed the romantic aspect could have been more explored and moments from the manhua could have been added and whatnot! Don’t worry because the Chinese Media outlet, Weibo Sina dropped the fantastic news that the director, Wang Zhi is coming back with a second season and a sequel! Excited?! Well, so are we! 

Now, hold your horses, we are happy to share the news that writer Ou Si Jia and director, Gia Lee have been planning carefully what to do with Hidden Love, after its massive success and they decided why not make a second season and add more romantic elements from the novel and manhua which will add a special touch to the whole drama! Alongside that, a sequel is also on the way! Before diving into the details let us, talk about Hidden Love's first reason to know how it will be linked with the sequel and season 2! The drama centers around, Sang Zhi, the naive innocent-looking bubbly girl, one day when her elder brother, Sang Yan invites his friend, Duan Jia Xu to his place, she can’t help but develop a huge crush on Duan Jia Xu. The feelings, however, were one-sided because Jia Xu saw Sang Zhi as a little sister at first because of the age difference and everything. As time passed by, she couldn’t help but fall for him even more. Duan Jia Xu on the other hand, is unaware of how much impact he has on her with his basic kindness and charming words. When she started her, high school journey her time-to-time encounter with Duan Jia Xu made her heart flutter and the confusing mixed feelings left her in a state of frenzy. Things take a drastic change when Sang Yan, starts her university life, the twist? It is located in the same city where Duan Ji Xu lives! So when they crossed paths again, he couldn’t help but be attracted to Sang Zhi. As they spent more time together, he started to view her in a different light, more like someone mature, reliable, who is cute, and naive in her own way. As the drama proceeded, there were moments of uncertainty, as he was struggling financially and mentally. But they were able to over the differences and finally confessed their feelings for one another. But there were hurdles in their love life! Because Sang Yan was against their love but he gave in eventually and accepted them! The ending gave all of us cavities as they finally proposed to each other, giving a satisfying yet incomplete ending! Making the hearts of the fans and viewers burn with the desire of wanting more. 

Worry not because Season 2 of Hidden Life is much more exciting! In the next season, their marriage life will be explored, and Sang Zhi and Duan Jia Xu will become parents! Sang Zhi will become overwhelmed working as a mother and also raising their daughter at the same time will be challenging, she will become agitated and Duan Ji Xu like a loving and caring husband will take care of her, love her, and pamper her. However, he will feel scared at the same time, given his dysfunctional family history and how absent his father was throughout his entire life, Jia Xu will become vulnerable and, at times falter even thinking that he is not a good father or husband. Honestly, this will showcase the mature side of their love life, that even when things get rough love and trust heal everything. Their friends and family members will also help them out and, there will be moments of hilarity too! Get ready because it will be packed with, drama, emotional conflict and misunderstandings yet it will be beautiful. Since it’ll focus more on their marriage life there will be 10 episodes! Zhao Lusi and Chen Zhe Yuan will be the lead cast of course, because without them the essence of the series will be completely lost. 

Now let us talk about the exciting sequel! The sequel or the spin-off is called the First Frost. The love story of Sang Zhi’s older brother, Sang Yan, and Wen Yi Fan will be the main story. The teaser has been out, and fans and viewers are loving every moment of it. Their encounter rather will be an interesting one, the starting will be like Wen Yi Fan a famous reporter one day, to let lose decides to go to the bar and there she meets Sang Yan! Her high school crush is also the owner of the bar! Fate will make their encounters frequent, no matter how much they will try to ignore each they won’t be able to do that! They will fall into awkward situations but eventually, love will blossom between them, which will be heartwarming. Furthermore, Sang Zhi and Jia Xu will make a cameo in the spin-off, it will be endearing.

Sang Yan’s role will be played by Bai Jin Ting, instead of Victor Ma this time. The female lead will be portrayed by Zhang Ruo Nan. It is reported there are going to be a total of 32 episodes in the sequel, surely it will be a rollercoaster ride of emotions and heartfluttering moments! Director, Chu Yu Ning surely planned everything thoroughly for the spin-off, we won’t be disappointed! 

Now new faces will be seen in Season 2 of Hidden Love and the Spin-off, we will get to see Xu Kai, Bai Lu, Dilraba Dilmurat, Dylan Wang, Xiao Zhan, and Shen Yue are in talks of doing cameo or guest appearances which will truly elevate the drama’s and spin–off’s overall performance, who knows it may even dethrone other ongoing hit Chinese series. So expect the best, as the cinematography will be elevated and taken in various locations outside China like Beijing, Europe, Quebec, and other places so expect the best outcome as the production company, directors and writers are taking this gravely because no one wants to disappoint the viewers after all! 

As for the OST, it is reported that the leads of the drama will cover most of the songs but well-known singers, Ren Ran, Esther Yu and Zhou Shen will bless us all with their angelic soft voices which will truly make the overall emotional aspect of the drama and spin–off amazing and heartwarming.
