2016—The renowned writer of the Korean industry, Kim Eun Sook, blessed us with Descendants Of The Sun, starring Song Joong Ki, Song Hye Kyo, Kim Ji Won, and others! The drama was so gorgeously mapped out that everyone loved it, especially the cinematography and the plotline. However, we have very special news, Descendants Of The Sun is returning with a second season! So to know all the fresh details.

Writer Kim Eun Sook and directors, Baek Sang-Hoon and Lee Eung Bok after a careful discussion have decided to bring back the legendary drama, Descendants Of The Sun once again with a season 2 but with a more refreshing plotline that will keep you hooked to the core! The second season of Descendants Of The Sun will be filmed in various locations which will make the cinematography of the drama more fascinating. 

Before delving into sizzling news, let’s talk about how season one of Descendants Of The Sun went on. In the first season, the story centers around, Kang Mo Yeon, played by Song Hye Kyo who is a smart and confident heart surgeon at Haesung Hospital. Mo Yeon believes that hard work and skill matter more than connections. But she soon realizes that having connections is also important for moving forward in her career. Her life changes when she meets Yoo Shi Jin, portrayed by Song Joong Ki, the Captain of an army team. He is dedicated to helping people and protecting his country, even if it means disobeying orders. As the story proceeded we saw how their hectic schedules and differences caused an obstacle in their love life but they were able to work through the differences. The ending of the drama surely was unique where we expected to see a happy wedding ceremony and whatnot but the twist was surely entertaining and hilarious at the same time– don’t you agree? Now fans were not satisfied given how fast the show ended, everyone wanted to see more of each character's love life or the future struggles they will deal with but all good things have to come to an end right? But sadly that wasn’t the case but don’t worry because Season 2 of Descendants Of The Sun will be based on a different timeline with more twists and turns which will keep you hooked till the end! Writer Kim Eun Sook as we know, is known for her fascinating storytelling, in Season 2, it has been speculated that the lead couple will not be the same which is pretty obvious as Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo’s divorce, they respect each other enough to cross paths ever again. Most likely Song Joong Ki’s place will be given to Lee Min Ho!

As for Yoo Myung Joo and Seo Dae Young, they will get married finally and prove that true love can overcome any obstacles. Yoo Myung Joo’s father will not be against their love anymore!

The production company KBS and others are planning to expand their horizons when it comes to the location of the second season! They will film in various locations like Uzbekistan, Turkey, The Red Sea, and Casablanca, these places and their cultural heritage will make the plotline much more realistic and jaw-dropping. For the soundtrack or OSTs, fans can look forward to hearing the familiar voices of artists like Davichi, Mad Clown, and Gummy, who made the OSTs of Season 1 so iconic. Also, it has been reported that members of EXO-CBX, including Chen, Xiumin, and Baekhyun, might join the OST lineup to deliver unforgettable performances that capture the drama’s intense and romantic themes.

Season 1 became a global hit and several other remakes were made, like Taiwanese, Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese, and even Philippino remakes, adding more layers to the drama’s overall popularity. Later a novel of the drama was published which shows how the production company and writer was able to deliver such an amazing storyline!
